When you use Alimentary, we may collect the following types of information:
- Account data: Your email address when you create an account or join our mailing list.
- Health logs: Food entries, meal timestamps, symptom logs, and severity ratings that you enter into the app.
- Device information: Device model, operating system version, and app version for bug reporting and compatibility purposes.
- Usage data: Anonymised, aggregated analytics (e.g. feature usage counts) to help us improve the product.
We do not collect your full name, location data, biometric data, or any financial information.
2. How We Use Your Data
We use the information we collect solely to:
- Power the pattern-detection algorithms within the app (food trigger analysis, Gut Score calculation).
- Personalise your in-app experience and track your progress over time.
- Send you launch and product updates if you opted in via our mailing list.
- Diagnose technical issues and improve app stability.
We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.
3. Data Storage
Your health logs are stored locally on your device and, if you enable cloud sync, in your private Firebase Firestore database. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). Your Firestore instance is access-controlled — only authenticated requests tied to your account can read your data.
4. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Export your health logs in a portable format.
- Rectify inaccurate data.
- Delete your account and all associated data (Settings → Delete Account in-app, or email us at support@alimentary.app).
- Opt out of marketing emails at any time via the unsubscribe link.

5. Cookies
This website is a static site and does not use cookies or any client-side tracking scripts. No analytics cookies, advertising pixels, or session storage is used.
